This work consists in a comparison between 1960 and 1980 of four cephalic dimensions taken on Belgian girls and boys aged 3 to 26 years and attending the schools of Brussels. An obvious evolution is noticed : the length of the head shows an increase till 12 (not significant except for the youngest) while the width shows at every age an evident diminution (which is statistically highly significant). In both sexes and since 3 years, this diminution is about 1,5 mm for a decade. The other facial breadths (bizygomatic and bigoniac) also show a decrease and are therefore in accordance with this trend of decreasing breadth.
