This paper examines specific sociocultural impacts of management decisions and outlines data needs concerning these impacts. Suggestions are made concerning the integration of sociocultural data with bio-economic data as a means for developing models to quantitatively evaluate trade-offs between biological, social, and economic aspects of fisheries management. Relevant aspects of the social environment of the development and implementation of fisheries management plans are also examined in an attempt to outline factors which could facilitate the process.
