Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a fluorinated topical used by dental surgeons for the management of carious disease, especially in primary teeth. That has been proven worldwide to be effective in preventing and stopping carious lesions. It is a non-invasive cariostatic and carioprotective agent which is easy and fast to use and also inexpensive. Due to these properties, SDF has a potential application as an adjunct to atraumatic restorative treatment (ART).
