Symptomatic venous thromboembolism (VTE) is diagnosed in 3%-14% of patients during pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) therapy. Prophylaxis with low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) has been described, but its use is not globally accepted.
