This paper focuses on spolia and all'antica architectural sculpture displayed in Piazza Maggiore (now Piazza del Popolo) during the Venetian dominion of the city (1441-1509). More specifically, the paper discusses the so-called “Venetian palazzetto”, the two columns now hosting St. Vitale and St. Apollinare, as well as retracing the vicissitudes of an almost completely lost statue of Hercules known as Orario or Concaincollo
