L'économie solidaire est née au cœur des années 1980, dans une configuration marquée par la problématique du chômage et de l'effritement du salariat. L'enjeu de cette thèse est de revenir sur les choix théoriques faits à cette époque, mélangeant notions habermassiennes et polanyiennes. Ceux-ci ont laissé largement irrésolu une certaine tension entre l'autonomie comme norme, idéal et injonction, et la condition réelle des individus des sociétés démocratiques, individus inégalement supportés face à cette normativité contemporaine. Explicitant l'impasse théorique dans laquelle ils nous laissent, nous proposons de rompre avec le paradigme délibératif et de renouer avec les premiers développements de l'économie solidaire.
