Abstract. The «Highway 128 phenomenon» one of he most classic examples of the recent location of American industries near the main peri-urban super highways. After short relation of the main features of that phenomenon and of the basic factors of its development during the sixties, the author analyses pecu liarly its evolution since 1969, through the difficulties of the national economy and the turn of the federal policy. The thorough study of the figures enables to see an evolution at once in structure (technological transfers) and in space (the very roadside is now well overpassed in favour of the «Platinum Perimeter»), thus modifying the «Highway 128 model».Résumé.
