Thin Films are frequently used in microelectronics, and plastic phenomena created during deformation can alter their properties. This is why there are still very much studied. Thin films have mechanical behavior different than bulk materials because of their nanometric thickness. This small dimension gives to the surface of the studied objects, a significant impact on the plasticity. This work focuses on plasticity evolution inside of a single crystal gold thin films during mechanical test, with a stronger focus on the phenomena related to twins. At first we developed a process to in situ evaluate the evolution of the twinned volume in a sample from pole figures during a biaxial tensile test.
