The primary purpose of this project is to explore why current students at this university decided to participate in band program ensembles in college. This research will add to previous similar research but will be contemporary and specific to this region and university. This research is important because it can be used by high school band directors in the future to help provide students with the necessary support to be able to consider continuing participating in music ensembles in college
