Medical applications of a dynamic measuring method for determining the severeness of periodontal disease of teeth are described. The applied method uses the signals of a subminiature accelerometer generated by well defined impact forces of a percussion instrument. More than 20,000 teeth with and without periodontal disease were examined. The results show that this method is very suitable for the continuous control of the success of different therapies. (IITB
