The objective of this chapter is to explore the understanding of the green economy concepts and practices currently implemented in the tourism industry in the Limpopo Province. There is no empirical evidence of a baseline study on green economy concepts and practices in South Africa, and this chapter addresses that gap using the Limpopo Province as a case study. The analysis was based on baseline survey data collected across randomly selected tourism businesses and key informants from 23 municipalities in the Limpopo Province to help shed light on the understanding of and different green economy practices undertaken in the province by industry stakeholders and government.
