The aspects of fatigue life prediction based on local strains and the material data for components made from cast and forged aluminium alloys are treated. For this purpose the material data - monotonic and cyclic stress-strain curves and strain controlled fatigue life curves - were determined on test specimens which were taken out from components. The investigated stress-time histories correspond to them on wheels and wheel hubs being predominantly amplitude modulated cyclic stresses with almost constant mean value. Using the material data the fatigue life for the components test spectra was predicted.
