Systems for the automatic checking of pharmaceutical products in blister packs have been in operation for some years. The authors report on a sensor system they developed together which was mounted on a batch-processing thermoform machine. The sensor system is being used successfully to check that the packs are accurately filled with coated tablets of different colours and dimensions (5,7 - 6,8 mm diameter and 4,8 - 4,1 mm thickness, 90 - 140 mg weight).
