Using a dimensionally engineered nano film of lead sulphide (PbS) above/below the methyl ammonium lead tri-iodide (MAPbI3) as a passivation layer in a planar inverted perovskite solar cell (PSC), we have shown that the power conversion efficiency (PCE) can increase at least by 3% compared to the reference MAPbI3 inverted perovskite solar cell. This improvement of 3% in efficiency using a PbS nano layer is better than any other reference reported in the literature. Further, with the incorporation of PbS nano film the fill factor (FF) showed a significant enhancement, reaching over 0.81.
