This thesis was previously held under moratorium in Chemistry Department (GSK) from 25th August 2015 until 1st October 2017.The 7-transmembrane chemokine receptor, CCR4 is differentially expressed on T helper type 2 (TH2) cells; together with its endogenous ligands, CCL17 and CCL22, it promotes activation and recruitment of TH2 cells into the lungs.
