The reaction products, including the toxic gases such as NO, NOsub2, HCN and CO, have been analyzed after detonation and combustion of explosives and propellants under different conditions. The detonation products of two commercial high explosives, of TNT with different confinement and of an under water plastic bonded high explosive after detonation in argon and in air have been determined. On the other hand,the combustion behavior of three gun propellants were analyzed by burning in argon atmosphere and additionally in air. Finally Composition B and TNT were investigated by burning in air. The results have been discussed in detail
