Within the Fraunhofer-Institute of Ceramic Technologies and Sintered Materials ceramic for electronic devices, as sensors, actuators, energy converters and passive components are developed and investigated for application. The synthesis of conducting oxides, dielectrics, ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics and electrostrictive materials is based on complex perovskites, pyrochlores, glasses and composites. Special emphasis is given to pastes for conductors and resistors, to PZT and PMN. The functional ceramics are fabricated as compact material, foil, thin film (smaller than 1 mym), thick film (thicker than 10 mym)and are tailored for specific application.
