Add to ORKGThe management of multimedia data in distributed environments is an important issue in many telework applications. While geographically dispersed, participants of telework use telecommunication as a tool to connect them in a common information space. This article discusses using database technology to support data retrieal and data sharing in the common information space. It also presents the design and implementation of a distributed image database system, and introduces its use in a medical teleteaching support system
