Rapid prototyping becoming a key factor in speeding up the product development process. This paper presents a concept of electronic prototyping called virtual prototyping. The idea is to integrate product modelling with computer simulation, realistic visualization and virtual reality techniques to make the product data model a virtual prototype. In contrast to physical prototypes, a virtual prototype is made very fast, can be manipulated and modified directly and the data is reusable.
