The paper discusses the potential of pressure slip casting for components made of technical ceramic materials. The tests carried out on pressure slip casting and pressure filtration of silicon nitride show that the highest green density will be obtained if a slurry is used which is completely deflocculated and does not contain any binding agent. Penetration of fine particles into the porous plastic mould cannot be completely prevented but can be reduced to a large extent by the proper selection of the pressure-time regim
