Abstract Objective: To determine the association between compulsive spending and attitudes towards indebtedness among consumers in the retail sector of the Junín region. Methods. Correlational level, non-experimental design, basic research. Two questionnaires were used as instruments: one evaluated attitudes towards indebtedness and the other compulsive shopping Rueda et al. (2019). were: austerity and hedonism. The sample consisted of 200 consumers from the retail sector in 4 provinces of the Junín region, who were sampled by non-probabilistic purposive sampling.
