Colonizers put an impact on natives of sub-continent that local languages are creating a barrier line among their progress. "Learn Persian, sell oil", such proverbs were the part of those conspiracies to push the native literature and languages to the margins. The natives start disowning their own language. In this paper it would be reviewed that how English Newspapers replaced native newspapers. Moreover, how the columns written in English language proved to be helpful in understanding Urdu language and Urdu literature to the English knowing community. These literary columns proved themselves to be helpful in defining and introducing Urdu literature on world level as English is an international language
