The nondestrcutive testing of adhesive bonds by a new ultrasonic technique is presented. It is based on the nonlinear transmission of the ultrasonic signal through the bonds. The technqiue can be applied to thick and thin adhesive bonds as well as to composite materials. An outline of the experimental apparatus and applications are discussed
