The nondestructive testing of adhesive bonds by a new ultrsonic technique is presented. It is based on the nonlineaar transmission of the ultrasonic signal through the bonds. The technique can be applied to thick and thin adhesive bonds as well as to composite materials. An outline of the experimental apparatus and applications are discussed
