At the beginning of the 90s, from environmental points of view one tried to facilitate purposeful adjustments of the property profile by means of oxide layers produced vacuum-technically on a few film materials and consequently to reduce the material multiplicity of composite materials. The real demand for these barrier materials fell short of expectations for several reasons. The author is of the opinion that individual firms cannot effect the breakthrough. The capacity of modern strip coating plants is so high that only several firms together can utilize such a plant to the full
