The paper presents a new approach for the implementation of semiconductor models. The developed new model library uses object oriented techniques. Especially SPICE compatible models are implemented in the library. It is designed to support different simulators. The model implementation is completely separated from the simulator's interface. Thus, a change in the model interface is made possible without changing the model's implementation. A first chapter discusses problems of the present SPICE model implementations
