The rotating spindle is especially used in a machine tool. It is especially used as a main spindle and has imbalances which are reduced by a balance system. The balance system has magnetically-adjusted weights (3) which are shifted by a mechanism with magneto-rheological fluid (5) and magnetic coils (6) in response to an imbalance signal.
