Jurisprudential expressions of the protection of personality rights first appeared in the first half of the 19 th century, in England (1825, 1849) and in France (1845). Originally, it completed the insufficient copyright protection, and at the end of the century it was reinforced by the new notion of « moral rights » of the author.
