DE 19904990 A UPAB: 20000613 NOVELTY - Production of nanometer sized particulate material, comprises preparing a very low viscosity liquid colloidal dispersion of the material, introducing the dispersion into a gas, compressed above its critical point, so at least part of the solvent is taken up by the gas, separating the solids from the gas/solvent vapor system, and purge drying the solids with highly compressed/supercritical gas. USE - The novel method is used to produce powders with a 20-200 nm particle size, which can be used e.g. to produce pharmaceuticals with improved solubility/dispersibility
