The manufacture of complex shaped parts like turbine blades or integral parts such as BLISK (blade integrated disk) require the use of highly efficient production technologies such as simultaneous five-axis-machining. This paprefocused on recent developments of the potentials of five-axis-machining for complex shaped parts based on various investigations at the Fraunhofer IPT. Special focus is pointed to the analysis and optimization of NC- data regarding the kinematics and dynamic behavioour of the machine tool including controller -related aspects and the generation of machine tool optimized NC-programs. This includes the verification of theoretical and practical approaches to generate high quality NC-programs for five-axis-machining
