Multicompartment micelles with distinct hydrophobic microdomains having different properties have been realized via micellar polymers bearing hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon fragments. In aqueous solution, such polymers can self-organize into coexisting hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon microdomains that selectively solubilize different hydrophobes. The most efficient approach uses block copolymer polysoaps, but simpler designs may be possible
