Corresponding to the development of autonomous vacuum cleaners and lawnmower there will be an increasing demand for autonomous and handy systems for window cleaning. In this paper the customer requirements for such a system will be determined. A functional model of a low cost window climbing system with high potentials to meet these requirements will be introduced
