One sort of semi automated assembly systems are those with humans and robots both working in the same assembly system or line. Planning a semi automated assembly line means to allocate the assembly processes on humans and robots and optimise the operating sequence. At the Fraunhofer IPA, Stuttgart, Germany, a method and a software tool have been developed for the planning of an operating sequence of a semi automated assembly line which is optimised in termns of skills of humans, technical skills of robots and the cycle time
