DE 10350165 A UPAB: 20050715 NOVELTY - In a high temperature micro-forming process for small components the material is positioned between upper and lower tools. The work piece and/or one of the tools is pre-heated. The distance between the two tools is progressively reduced, thereby forming a microstructure on the glass, ceramic or metal work piece. Also claimed is an appropriate tool operating at above 350 degrees C. USE - High-temperature process and assembly to form microstructures on small glass, ceramic or metal components. ADVANTAGE - The process and assembly operate rapidly on materials that can only be shaped at high temperatures
