New growth theories : some contributions This paper reviews the developments in Growth Theory during the last decade, placing emphasis on consequences on public policy. The main conclusion of new theories is well known : growth is endogenous, ie it depends on saving (in a wide acception) ; then public policy could alter the rate of growth. New theories give new topicality to old analysis which were shared by french planning. They put emphasis on investment, research, human capital, infrastructure and also on the coordination between private agents. These theories are now questionned.
