This thesis presents a streaming framework for 3D geo information systems. The main challenge lies in the efficient distribution of large amounts of GIS data. Focus is set to fast delivery and visualization of content as well as to maintaining full quality and authoring capability of GIS data. As technological platform, the CityServer3D of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics is used. In the first step, existing approaches in local and remote rendering are examined for transferability and used as basis.
