WC-Co and WC-Ni cemented carbides surface finished by wire electrical discharge machining, grinding or polishing were characterized tribologically by means of dry sliding pin-on-plate experiments using a TE77 tribometer and WC-6wt%Co cemented carbide as counter body. Surface conditions both before and after wear testing were analyzed by 3D topography scanning, SEM, EDX and XRD.
