The idea of «normalization» cannot be mixed with the notions of «formalization» or «certification». This article tries to demonstrate that the most powerful normalizations of the last decade in the management of firms concerns more the cognitive and subjective dimensions of the individual implication in work, than the commercial inter-firm relationships.
