The aim of this paper is to determine the driving action of the industrial public sector within the national productive structure. This study has been carried out with the use of 33 and 86 sectors input-output matrices, on the basis of influence theory indicators. The results moves that the industrial public sector displays two basic features : 1) it has a low driving action and a strong aptitude to diffuse price movements 2) its internal consistency is strong because of the close relations existing between the public sectors.
