In the past, pedometers and pulse sensors were variously developed and became pretty optimized. Meanwhile, the monitoring of physical activity of the user in daily life becomes very important. Hereby the type of movement, the duration and intensity becomes a focus of research. According to the health improvement of sport activities, it is feasible to motivate everyone to perform a healthy lifestyle. Also it is useful to optimize the course of motion. Fraunhofer-Institute for Computer Graphics Rostock developed a motion sensor board using a microcontroller and a 3D acceleration sensor for data acquisition.
