Plauchu Henri and Bideau Alain. — Epidemiology and the Creation of a Population Register in Connection with a Geographical Concentration of a Rare Hereditary Disease. The authors present the researches carried out on Rendu-Osler's genopathy, beginning with the discovery of a geographical concentration located in the Jura mountains of the Ain département. The research is two-fold, focused on the four villages of the centre (creation of a data bank) and on the spatial distribution of the gene about this centre. It is demonstrated how the creation of a register of patients extends the epidemiological procedures and permits numerous cross-checks with the demographic and genetic data collected in the four villages of the centre.
