As has already been mentioned in a previous paper, the adoption of stringent road safety regulations in 1973, succeeded in breaking for the first time since the advent of the motor car the rising toll of road accident victims. There was even a fall in mortality which led to an increase in the expectation of life, especially for men. However, the accident rate remains high, for every 10 individuals living to age 65, there will be five accidents causing injury among men and three among women.
