Erweiterung eines Peer-to-Peer-Systems für den legalen Datenaustausch zur Anbindung an ein Content-Management-System

There are multiple ways of getting content over the internet. But the file sharing network has become the one most widley used. However their reputation has suffered because they are used primarily for sharing illegal content. The Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD has initiated a project Confuo©o. This project should take advantage of the technological features of peer-to-peer systems and at the same time prevent the exchange of illegal content. The second prototype used the BitTorrent-Technologie which enabled the peers to obtain fragments of a file from different sources and thus to maximize the data throughput. In order to download a file the peer needs the torrent-file. This file contains all information neccessary like the file size, source and the size of the fragments. The downside of using the BitTorrent system is that the system does not define how the torrent files are managed and administred and furthermore it has no functionality to restrict the access of the content. At this point the diploma thesis begins. Starting with the content management system and the extented Confuo©o system it is to examine how the systems have to be extented in order to make the overall system secure and to provide a platform so that the users of the system can search for registerd content regardless of the content availibility-status. In addition the platform has to provide information about the user online presence an the content which is provided by the users. The information is used to raise the attention of the users and to provide awareness. The operating company of the Confuo©o system should have the posibility to build a sustainable business model based on the information provided by the system. Therefor the content management system must have information about the users, their preferences and the awareness of the content each user provides
