El-Kowm II Caracol is located half way between Palmyra and the Euphrates. This low-lying tell has revealed six architectural levels dating from 8 000 to 7 500 BP. The site consists of a definitely final PPNB without ceramics, characterised by a varied and original architecture and an agro-pastoral economy augmented by the exploitation of wild resources.El Kowm 2 Caracol se situe à mi-chemin entre Palmyre et l'Euphrate. Ce tell peu élevé a livré six niveaux d'architecture datés de 8 000 à 7 500 BP. Il s'agit d'un site PPNB tout-à-fait final, sans céramique, caractérisé par une architecture originale et variée et une économie agro-pastorale complétée par une exploitation des ressources sauvages.Stordeur Danielle.
