Les Débuts de la céramique sur le Moyen-Euphrate : nouveaux documents

At Tell Mureybet, pottery was found in a context of the beginning of the 8-th millenium B.C. At Tell Assouad (probably ca. 6 500 B.C.) levels with much pottery were recovered below ten meters of acerantic occupations looking like those of Bouqras and Abu Hureira. This shows the danger of every generalization concerning the date of apparition of pottery which may be submitted to the same variations that the other elements of the "néolithisation ".De la poterie remontant au début du 8e millénaire a été découverte à Mureybet. A Tell Assouad des niveaux avec céramique abondante ont été trouvés sous dix mètres de niveaux sans poterie ressemblant à Bouqras et Abu Hureira : l'ensemble daterait d'environ 6500 B.C. On en conclut au danger de généralisation sur la date d'apparition de la poterie, aussi variable que les autres éléments de la "néolithisation".Cauvin Jacques.
