The present article describes the complex relationship between an optimized rolling pocess, especially for round rolling technique with two profiled tools, and the following workpiece-measurements of gearing qualities after forming process. In the foreground, there is the long evolution of the profile rolling process at Fraunhofer IWU Chemnitz, based on stub-tooth gearings up to high gears. In addition, an insight on many factors and characteristics of the rolled products is given, so future developments in the area of gear rolling need to be completed to industrially relevant requirements. This will assure a new stage of formed components in the field of transmissio
