Digital archiving of film and television material using JPEG 2000 and MXF

In this paper an approach to digital archiving of digital cinema and television content is described. The development system and solution is based on the use of open standards for data formats, namely JPEG 2000 and MXF. The basic principles are described, followed by the introduction of a system prototype. The efforts in international standardization are described
