The Reform of Nationality Law, or the Formalization of a Political Turn. Géraud de Geouffre de La Pradelle [154-171] What was the power of lawyers in the elaboration of the nationality law reform in the «loi du 22 juillet» ? This article shows how professional lawyers played both a political and a jurdical role. Political because they participated both to the definition of a new direction in the conduct of nationality matters and to the legimation of these ideological thesis. Juridical because they contributed to the juricization of this Bill. Everything seems to point that the power of the lawyers was weak and subordinated to the politicians' will. Although nothing allows us to think that this power will not be used afterwards in courtroom...
