President'Bush Foreign Policy, by Charles-Philippe David This article offers a gênerai overview of the foreign policy of the Bush Administration, through a decision-making analysis which explains the strengths and weaknesses of the Présidents style. The management of foreign affairs is examined on the basis of presidential personality, bureaucratie debates within the Administration and the philosophy of Bush and his advisers during the defining moments of the end of the Cold War. The underlying characteristics of the decision-making process tend to indicate that, while experienced, the Bush team was short of ideas in redefining foreign policy and clearly favored a policy of status quo.
