In this article the treatment of congenital articular rigidity in the calf is discussed. All aspects of the treatment including the conservative and operative therapy are reviewed. The surgical technique at the carpus in the case of carpal rigidity, as well as the surgical technique midway the metacarpus and the metatarsus in the case of metacarpo-/ metatarsophalangeal rigidity are described.
